How to Create a Restaurant Experience Right at Home

Being away from home will often offer this nice appeal, almost like a luxury appeal if you think about it. Think about hotels, their soft towels, and those captivating views. But that’s not all, what about hotels? While some homeowners will add something small like a breakfast bar into their kitchens to help bring that type of feeling, for so many, it’s not enough.

You have to remember it’s not just about aesthetics, but it’s also about the experience itself too. So, here are some ways to create that restaurant experience right in the comfort of your own home.

Start Off With Table Wear

If you’ve ever watched a Nancy Meyers movie, then you’ve probably noticed that there are always beautiful table settings present, even in standard dining rooms.

Think about the movie “Something’s Gotta Give”; there’s a scene where it’s dinner but wine glasses are out, a beautiful serving dish is presented, and the plates are gorgeous.

All of this helps create that restaurant-like experience at home. You don’t even have nice fancy tableware. It’s more about the placement, anyways. So just use what you already have!

Pick a Theme

This doesn’t mean you need to transform your dining table, but making some changes doesn’t hurt either. There are many elements that make a restaurant experience special.

Some of the most important are the atmosphere, food, and service. Creating a restaurant-like dining experience at home can be as simple as choosing a theme.

Theme-inspired decor (which is optional) and music can elevate your meal and set the mood for an unforgettable evening. Start by thinking about your favorite restaurants and what makes them unique.

This could be anything from the way you’re greeted to the type of music that plays. Once you have your theme in mind, you can select table decor, dinnerware, and lighting to create the perfect ambiance. You can even set up a centerpiece and layout unique placemats for an added touch of sophistication.

Have a Unique Dish

Why go with the standard dishes you have every week? If you want to create that experience, then you need to cook and eat foods that you typically don’t have.

This could be cheddar cheese sauce on top of potatoes and a steak, for instance. But really, it’s going to be what you want, but going with something you don’t typically eat is going to help. You could even go a step further by making some dinner rolls or bread to go at the center of the table too.

Dress the Part

Why not take it up a notch by dressing the part too? Even if you’re going to be at home, why not dress how you would dress if you were going out to eat? It has a way of making the feeling of dining feeling more authentic.

Take it Outside

How often do you eat outside? Do you have a patio, balcony, or deck? In these cases, why not take total advantage of it and set up the meal to be outside This is instantly going to give you those Al Fresco dining vibes, something that feels very luxurious.
