About Angela Milnes
Hi, I’m a family lifestyle blogger, teacher, recipe developer and pet parent who loves to share my passions here on With A Splash Of Color.
Here you will find a mixture of Irish, Southern and Easy Recipes from sides to mains to desserts. I also share my love of Cricut Crafts, along with Practical Everyday Advice For Home Living and Caring For Your Dogs.
Why Irish And Southern Recipes?
I have Irish ancestry on both my Mom and my Dad’s side of the family tree. I have fond memories of visiting my Grandfather Martin Meigh and trying his famous Homemade Irish Pies.
As for Southern recipes, although I didn’t grow up in the South, I’ve always had a special place in my heart for Southern Cuisine. The rich flavors, comforting dishes, and tradition of bringing people together around the table have inspired me to explore and share these recipes. I love adding my own twists to these classics, blending them with my Irish roots to create something unique and delicious.
As a qualified teacher with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Grad Diploma in ECE Teaching. I’ve taught Cooking Classes To Adults With Special Needs as well as Teaching Recipes To New Parents and studying Nutrition For Infants and Toddlers as part of my professional teacher development.
Home Style and Lifestyle
Creating a warm and welcoming home is something I’m deeply passionate about. Here, I share practical tips and inspiration for making your house feel like a true home.
Whether it’s organizing, decorating, or simply adding those little touches that make everyday life easier and more enjoyable, I believe that homemaking is an art that brings comfort and joy to those we love. From cozy decor ideas to seasonal home projects, I’m here to help you create a space that reflects your personality and supports your family’s needs.
Dog Ownership And Pet Tips
As a proud dog mom, I know how important it is to keep our furry friends happy and healthy. I share practical advice on dog care, from nutrition and grooming to fun activities and training tips.
With over ten years of blogging experience about dogs, I’ve had the privilege of exploring many aspects of pet care. From attending Scruffs and various Pet Shows, to meeting famous dogs, transporting dogs overseas and even flying with them on planes, I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge that I love to share with fellow dog lovers.
My dogs are a huge part of my life, and I believe that a happy home is one where every family member—human and canine—is well cared for. We have had the joy of owning four Bichons: Yoda and Casper, who have sadly crossed the Rainbow Bridge, and our current furry companions, Alfred and Kokimo.
My Awards And Education
I’ve won many Awards over the years. I was also nominated that same year for a MADS Award as a Top UK Parent Blogger and shortlisted for the Inspire category at the BritMums Blogging Awards 2016.
In 2017 I was named a finalist at the BritMums Blogging Awards Inspire Category and again in 2018 in the BritMums Blogging Awards Pinterest Category.
In 2019 I won and was named Best Campaign Creator in the UK by the BritMums Influencer Network and was featured in the Lancashire Evening Post. I regularly shared recipes and lifestyle tips and have collaborated with food brands across the UK.
