Whether it’s due to time, money, or something else, keeping each meal nutritious can be a struggle. Prices on healthy ingredients are rising and the cheaper food products seem to be filled with unhealthy and questionable ingredients. Then there’s finding time to prepare meals when you barely have time to stop and breathe. It’s so much easier (and less stressful) to just pull something quick out of the freezer. The best way to make sure it’s not something I’ll regret is to stock my freezer with smart choices.

For me, smart food choices are those with quality ingredients, lots of nutritional benefits, and limited processing. Oh, and the more veggies the better. I’ve found some great food products that are quick and easy and packed with flavor and nutrition. It’s the perfect balance for a busy lifestyle without compromising on ingredients. Here are my current faves.

Birds Eye Veggie Made Garlic Chicken & Birds Eye Veggie Made Mac & Cheese

Birds Eye is at the top of my frozen food faves. The latest varieties I’ve tried have been in the Veggie Made line. I was introduced to vegetable-based pasta almost a decade ago and have been a fan ever since. They are my eat this, not that choice when I’m craving noodles. Birds Eye has several options available that have the same great flavor and quality.

The Veggie Made Garlic Chicken Bowl is a great quick and easy meal for two. It’s a wonderful balance of tender chicken and a half-cup of vegetables per serving.

The Veggie Made Mac & Cheese can act as a side dish or you can add in more vegetables or anything else to make it an entree. As is, you get 1 serving of vegetables per serving without any artificial flavors, preservatives or dyes. They’re made with real cheese and will be a huge hit with kids (what a great way to increase their veggie intake without a fuss!)

Gardein Classic Meatless Meatballs

Gardein is another long-time favorite for me. I love that I can cut back on meat and include Gardein products in most recipes and never notice a difference. The plant based Meatless Meatballs is always a hit. They’re certified vegan, non-GMO, dairy-free and kosher. Also, there are 14 grams of protein per serving and only take 8 minutes to cook! gardein meatless meatballs

Gardein Meatless Meatballs are great for spaghetti night, meatball subs, and in any other recipe that calls for meatballs. Yum!

Healthy Choice Café Steamers Grilled Chicken Marinara with Parmesan

Chicken Parmesan is my go-to meal whenever I’m at an Italian restaurant. It takes quite a while from prep to table so I don’t make it at home too often. I love that Heathy Choice lets me enjoy it anytime.

With the new steamer tray, everything is cooked to perfection and I’m 100% satisfied with each bite. I love the addition of broccoli and the zesty marinara sauce is Y.U.M. yum! The lack of preservatives leaves me feeling happy and too. I can’t wait to try a Healthy Choice Power Bowl next!

Udi’s Sweet Potato Crust Chicken BBQ Pizza

I have long been curious about alternative crusts for pizza. I see so many gluten-free and grain-free pizzas and never imagined I would actually enjoy a non-traditional pizza crust. That is, until I tried the Udi’s Sweet Potato Crust Chicken BBQ Pizza.

It was a balanced flavor with a great texture and it didn’t tear or leak as I expected. I was definitely pleasantly surprised and that’s why this is my new go-to frozen pizza!

These are my favorite freezer staples, what are yours?
