iCoffee Opus Review

The introduction of single cup coffee brewing, like with the iCoffee Opus, is one of the best things to ever happen to me. While I have grown dependent on that morning Cup o' Joe, I don't have the caffeine tolerance needed to polish off a full pot. Oh, but I try.

I have had many a single cup brewers, and even many other brewers, like latte machine or manual espresso maker, over the years and have given most of them away for one reason or another. But I still had back to a single cup brewer.

The main thing I noticed with them was the coffee wasn't really hot enough and most of the time there was that yucky, bitter aftertaste. And before you say 'it was the single serve cups' let me assure you I tried many different brands/flavors as well as my own with reusable cups.

I was beginning to think I was stuck using a traditional coffee maker until something magically wonderful happened. I received Remington's iCoffee Opus to review.

This is a step above your typical single-cup brewer. It looks and (mostly) acts like others, but it goes above and beyond the competitors with their SpinBrew™ Technology.

What is iCoffee Opus SpinBrew™ Technology?

SpinBrew™ Technology came about when Bruce Burrows realized that the only way to have a great coffee taste at home was to re-invent how coffee was brewed at home. The technology spins, steams, and stirs throughout the brewing process to open up the grounds, unlocking and releasing all the exquisite coffee flavor in a way that has never been done before. This is unlike Keurig's method of water spraying from the bottom of the needle through the coffee, neglecting many of the grounds.

Thanks to this technology, the iCoffee Opus delivers a brilliant cup of coffee that is full of flavor without the bitter aftertaste.

Opus (and all iCoffee single cup brewers) are compatible with K-Cup®, OneCup™, RealCup™ capsule, and all private label cups. That means you don't have to stick with any specific line - variety is the spice of life! It even comes with its own reusable cup so you can use your own ground coffee or tea.

While other single cup brewers don't do much for the aesthetics of your kitchen or office, the iCoffee Opus will certainly brighten it up, literally! This brewer glows blue when it's powered on and while you're brewing a blue light is cast over your cup.

Dial-a-Brew™ technology allows you to control the strength of your brewed beverage. The lower the setting, the stronger the brew and vice versa. Settings start at 4 ounces and goes to 12 ounces in ½ ounce increments.

The drip tray is removable to let you fit taller mugs and when you're ready to put it back the magnetic pull will make sure it's secure.

The water reservoir holds up to 75 ounces of water, letting you brew more cups before having to refill it. Save energy with the Energy Saver mode and automatic shut-off.

After using the iCoffee Opus my faith in single cup brewers has been restored. It looks great, the brewed drinks taste great, and the price tag is on point. Normally when I do a review I try to address the positive and the negative, but I can't find anything I don't like here. Well, maybe one thing - the iCoffee Opus is only available from Bed Bath & Beyond. Sure, not a deal breaker but this tiny (possible) inconvenience is the only thing I can see as potentially negative.

I drink too many cups of coffee in the morning to use a single serve coffee machine every day but I do like having on for when I entertain that way everyone can have the coffee they prefer. I'll have to check out the ICoffee Opus before my holiday party.

I love that it has the jets to make sure the coffee grounds move around. I have a Keurig but I will look into that when I need a new one.

That looks a lot like the Keurig! I'm not a coffee drinker but I'm sure this would be a great option for those that do.

I seldom drink coffee, but I know that my husband would love to have something like this. This is why I'll have to keep it in mind!

This sounds like a great coffee marker indeed. I love that you have the variety of types of coffee you can use like the real grounds or the K-Cups. Thanks for sharing this coffee marker I will have to check this out for sure because we are all coffee lovers.

This looks like a really neat coffee brewer. I have never heard of it before but for those that drink coffee by the cup this would be perfect.

Oh wow! That jet method makes so much more sense than a drip maker. Our coffee maker has just about had it, so this couldn't come at a better time!

The iCoffee Opus would be right up my alley. I haven't tried one before which is surprising considering I'm a coffee drinker in the worst way.
