Handmade Fireplace – #DadBuiltThis

This post is sponsored by Lowe’s but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

From playsets to wedding arch’s, dads have been using their hands to create memories for their children for a lifetime. Can you imagine how many DIY projects have been completed in the past few months? I’m in no way saying that moms aren’t capable of taking on household DIYs. But this is Dad’s month, so I wanted to take a little time to recognize the efforts of dads everywhere, especially mine!

Unfortunately, my home isn’t equipped for that and I had started to give up hope. I told my dad about my wish a while back and he shows up out of the blue last month, tools in hand. “Let’s get started!”, he said. It took me a while to register what was happening, but when it hit me I felt my eyes light up. My wish was about to come true.

The entire process sped by over the span of 3 days. Just when I thought he was finished he even decided to tile the fireplace. I couldn’t believe how amazing it turned it out and as I sit by it now I still can’t believe it! Even though it’s not a traditional, wood-burning fireplace, it’s exactly what I pictured in my mind. The fact that my dad built it made it hold an even more important spot in my heart.

There are so many memories that the future holds and I’m excited to see them all come to life. In the meantime, I’d love to see what your favorite #DadBuiltThis creation is. No matter how big or small, they’re all surely special, don’t you think? If you’re looking for some ideas to share with Dad, be sure to check out the #DadBuiltThis hashtag on Instagram.
