5 Things A Bedroom Needs This Winter

5 things your bedroom needs this winter

It is ridiculously cold outside. No shit, right? Well when you’re not used to the temps dropping below 30 and then a blizzard hits things get real cold, real fast. Everyone keeps saying “this is going to be a bad winter” and I’m starting to believe them. I decided it was time to winterize my bedroom and went about finding the goodies to turn the boudoir into a winter wonderland I can actually enjoy. Here are some of my favorite finds (with affiliate links to shop on Amazon), which do you like best?

The first thing you need is a big, fuzzy blanket. It might not sound appealing but OMG is it amazing to curl up under them and enjoy that instant satisfaction. I got one similar to the Chanasya Super Soft Fuzzy Faux Fur Cozy Microfiber Throw Blanket sold on Amazon and most nights it’s all I need to stay warm until morning. This one is under $30 and according to the reviews it’s worth that and then some!

The next thing your bedroom needs is a humidifier. Winter is notorious for sapping the moisture from our skin so we need a way (in addition to drinking lots of water) to restore some of it. A humidifier will help keep your skin hydrated while purifying the air of the yucky stuff. I found this on Amazon and love that it adds aromatherapy into the mix.

If you have hardwood or tile floors in your bedroom (or even if you don’t) a foot warmer is a nice convenience for winter months. Just slip your feet in before getting into bed and when you get out. As a bonus you could get one with a built-in massager (like this one) because, who EVER says no to a foot massage?

Having a personal space heater is a good idea when you want to save heating fuel but still stay warm on a cold winter’s night. I love my Dyson Hot + Cool Air Purifier mainly because I can set the desired temperature and it’s almost silent. I like to keep my temperature set at 60 so I can still snuggle under my blanket, but not worry about waking up congested.

A good source of music. Sure, you can listen on your iPod, with earbuds in, but who wants to sleep in earbuds? Check out my reviews for the JBL Charge 3, JBL Flip 4, JBL Playlist, and Klipsch The Capitol One Speakers. Any of these would be perfect for relaxing in bed and falling asleep listening to whatever your heart desires.
